Whether that is a car accident you cause or a car that hits you because they are on the phone, texting while driving will eventually affect you, if it already has not.

Many states are beginning to outlaw texting while driving, so people should begin to adjust to life without texting while driving. One option is to purchase a hand-free head set and actually pick up the phone and call someone. We know that people often avoid phone calls because it is just easier to send a quick message. Is it safer? No. if people were to just use their hand-free ear piece and make the phone call, their chances of being involved in a cell phone-related car accident would greatly decrease.

Take that second, and think about who you are putting at risk by driving with your phone in your hand. Is the risk worth it to you? Is that message so important that it is worth your life? So, when you reach for your phone just think about the people who have lost their lives to phone-related car accidents and decide if you want to take that risk.
