If anyone who has ever seen the movie, "Invictus" and has any aspirations to play rugby, now is your chance.

There are two chances to play rugby each year with a season in the fall, and one in the spring. The spring season is called Matrix, and is considered important because it allows players to compete for a national title.

Augusta State's Rugby Club is associated with the Augusta Rugby Club. The Augusta Rugby Club is associated with the USA Rugby Club whose team plays competitively against teams from Columbia to Greenville, and as far away as Charlotte, among various other places. At the end of the season there is a playoff system that determines who goes to the playoffs and competes for a national championship.

Along with competing for a national championship, there are three division determined by the size of your team and the skill level, with division one being less competitive than division three.

According to Richard Jackson, president of the Rugby Club, the club was moved to a division two level since they went undefeated.

The rugby team from Augusta was developed in the late 1970s by a group of doctors from MCG and currently has nine players on the team.

Most of the players on the team are not just athletes but they are also students with some of them even studying at MCG.

According to Jackson, they are always looking for new players to recruit.

"I am always encouraging guys to play," Jackson said."You never know, you might like it, but if not, that is cool".

According to Jackson the best thing about the rugby club is the camaraderie among the players.

If anyone is interested in joining the Rugby Club they meet on Tuesday and Thursday nights on the Julian Smith Softball field directly behind Lake Olmstead Stadium.
